Cottage is a Marseille-based startup that connects travellers with locals for unique experiences. The company was founded in early 2017 by three entrepreneurs, Edouard, Julien and Sacha.
Edouard, Julien and Sacha had all worked in the tourism industry for a number of years and were looking for a way to use their skills and knowledge to help travellers have a more unique experience when visiting Marseille. They also wanted to support the local economy by promoting small businesses and organisations.
After a lot of research, they came up with the idea for Cottage. The concept is simple – travellers can book experiences with locals, who can show them around their city or town and share their knowledge and culture.
Since launching in early 2017, Cottage has been featured in a number of publications, including The Huffington Post, Forbes and Lonely Planet. The company has also grown rapidly, with over 1,000 experiences available across 30 cities.
